We’ve introduced three key updates to EasyLife 365 Collaboration, enhancing naming consistency, structured name generation, and simplifying Viva Engage provisioning.
What’s new?
1. Enforce Unique Display Names
This feature ensures that users do not choose team names that already exist in the environment, helping administrators maintain a consistent and unique naming structure for the displaynames in teams.
- You can control this setting at the template level, deciding whether display names must be unique.

2. Add Country & Region Prefix for Name Generation
EasyLife placeholders for Display Names and SharePoint URLs now support the State or Region property from Entra ID for name assignment.
Previously, only other key requester properties were available. Based on your feedback, this option now includes the State or Region field as well.
3. Improvements in Viva Engage Provisioning
Starting in March 2025, provisioning Viva Engage Communities with EasyLife 365 Collaboration will no longer require service accounts. This change is enabled by Microsoft’s new APIs.
If you have the Viva Engage module enabled, please prepare for this change by:
- Reviewing the permissions of your tenant at https://admin.easylife365.cloud/collab/settings.
- If updates to permissions are required, follow the provided instructions to update them.
- If your permissions are already up to date, no further action is needed.
Key Dates to Note:
- Early Access: These changes are already available in the Insiders Environment for preview and testing.
- March 1, 2025 – EasyLife 365 will switch to the new authentication method. After this date, the old service account for Viva Engage can be removed.
