EasyLife 365 Collaboration makes the Security Center easier to use and opens the API to your own automation: every rule of a policy is now a clear card for owners, and scripts and services can call the API without a signed-in person.

What’s new?

  1. A clearer Security Center

    • Know what to do at a glance. Every rule of the policy of a group, Team, guest or OneDrive account is now a card. It shows what the rule requires, the deadline, what happens if nothing is done, and the action to take, all in one place.
    • Stay ahead of deadlines. Owners can confirm a group, a guest or an archived Team before it is due, which resets the countdown. An access review can be started early, and an access review of a group or Team can be continued while it is in progress.
    • Safe escalations. An escalation such as archive or delete sits next to the main action and still asks for confirmation before it runs.

  2. The API works without a signed-in person

    • Read, manage and create with an application. A script or service can read groups, guests, OneDrive accounts and SharePoint sites, change their templates and policies, create sites and invite guests, with the same templates, naming rules and approvals as the Admin Portal.
    • Only the access it needs. Read-only and create-only roles keep each application small. The audit log shows the application as the actor of a change, and a creation is recorded once, when the resource exists. Groups cannot be created by an application yet.

How these updates will affect you

  • The Security Center looks different and is easier to scan. Your policies, their deadlines and their actions stay the same.
  • Automations get exactly the access they need, without a service account that signs in like a person.
  • Using the API with an application? A role changed. Call the API as an application shows what to switch.
