Settings

The Settings page allows you to configure permissions, notification behavior, and contextual help links for the selected application.

Changes made on this page are not applied automatically. You must explicitly save them before leaving the page.

Only the following users can change settings:

  • Entra ID Administrators
  • Application Owners
  • Technical Owners with the Change app settings permission

Technical Owner Permissions

This section lets application owners define the specific scope of access for each technical owner assigned to the application. Each technical owner entry has a dedicated row showing their name and a set of toggle switches or checkboxes to grant or revoke individual permissions:

PermissionEffect
Change app business ownersAllows managing (add/remove) other business owners.
Change app technical ownersAllows managing (add/remove) other technical owners.
Change app ownersAllows modifying the owner list.
Change certificates and secretsGrants access to credential tasks such as rotation or deletion.

Business Owner Permissions

This section defines what business owners are allowed to manage. Currently, business owner permissions are intentionally limited, as they can only change business owners.

Credential Settings

Credential-related settings control how the application is treated with respect to automatic credential management and expiration notifications.

This app credentials are automatically managed: Enable this option if the app's credentials are rotated or maintained by an external system or automation.

When enabled:

  • The app is treated as managed
  • Credential expiration alerts are suppressed
  • Notifications are disabled by default

Notifications for Expiring Credentials

Receive notifications for expiring credentials: This option controls whether email and in-app notifications are sent when credentials are nearing expiration or have expired.

  • Enabled by default
  • Automatically disabled if the app is marked as automatically managed
  • When disabled due to management detection, the UI indicates the reason

Help Links

The Help links section allows you to provide custom documentation URLs that appear as help buttons in different tabs of the application.

These links are optional.
