What happens if I change a policy?
If you change the policy that is assigned to a resource, the resource's compliance will be evaluated against the new policy from the time of assignment. If a user has created a Shared Mailbox outside of EasyLife 365 that has only one assigned owner, it will be shown as not compliant in the Policy area if you assign a policy that requires a minimum of two owners. The existing owner will be notified and asked to add at least one additional owner.
What happens if I change a template?
If you change the template that is assigned to a resource, only the meta data associated with the resource will change. Other properties such as the mail nickname won't be affected. These properties are only set during the provisioning process. If you change the policy that is assigned to a template, metadata of existing groups will not be changed automatically.
Managing Synchronized On-Premise Shared Mailboxes
Synchronized on-premise shared mailboxes can be managed to a limited extent with EasyLife 365 Mail:
-
Adjust Permissions: You have the flexibility to modify access permissions for on-premise shared mailboxes, ensuring the right individuals have the appropriate level of access.
-
Apply Policies and Templates: Implement customized policies and templates to enforce specific security and organizational rules for these mailboxes, aligning them with your business requirements.
-
Creation Limitation: It's important to note that creating on-premise shared mailboxes is not supported through EasyLife 365 Mail. If you require a new shared mailbox, alternative methods may be necessary.
-
Deletion Safeguards: Deleting on-premise shared mailboxes is a controlled process. In cases where an attempt to delete an on-premise resource is made due to governance activities, a person will be notified when this activity is being performed to take further actions.
