Enable SharePoint site management

SharePoint site management allows you to apply governance to your Teams- and Communication-sites. As for teams and groups, your users can now independently create SharePoint Sites, and you, as the admin, can define guidelines (policies) for them to follow. We use the same owner principle as for Teams / Groups and Guest accounts, and to do so, we create a security group with a 1 to 1 association with the just-made SharePoint site. This security group contains all site collection administrators (only users) as owners and members. Those are the people who will take care of the site and its lifecycle.

Enable SharePoint site management

SharePoint site management is not enabled in the default configuration. To enable SharePoint site management open the EasyLife 365 Collaboration Cockpit and

  1. Navigate to Settings
  2. In the SharePoint section, check the box next to Enable SharePoint site Management
  3. In the SharePoint section, check the box next to Enable engine scans. If you skip this step, policies will not have any effect, your users will not get notified, and your escalation action will not get triggered
