Onboarding

Overview

Please follow all articles in the Getting Started section to enable EasyLife 365 in your organization. We recommend you prepare all prerequisites listed in the following section before you start with the onboarding process.

Prerequisites

  • The URL of your EasyLife 365 Collaboration Cockpit https://cockpit.easylife365.cloud
  • Global administrator account to consent the permissions to EasyLife 365 in your Azure AD
  • Teams (or global) administrator account to install and pin the EasyLife 365 Collaboration App using the Teams Admin Center
  • A list of users who will be managing EasyLife 365 in your organization
    • Optional: A security group for these accounts

Grant EasyLife permissions to your tenant

EasyLife 365 requires permissions to your tenant to perform its operations. EasyLife 365 registers two Azure AD applications to accomplish this goal.

  • EasyLife 365 Collaboration Cockpit: this is the administrative page used to manage EasyLife 365. It uses the EasyLife 365 API and Microsoft Graph to perform the required operations.

  • EasyLife 365: this is the web application used by your users in the organization. It is accessible standalone over the web or as integrated Microsoft Teams application. It uses the EasyLife 365 API and Microsoft Graph to perform the required operations.

A global administrator can grant the necessary permissions the EasyLife 365 Collaboration Applications using the EasyLife 365 Collaboration Cockpit.

  • Open EasyLife 365 Collaboration Cockpit in your browser.
  • EasyLife 365 Collaboration Cockpit will prompt you for consent to sign you in into the environment. Press Accept to proceed.
  • You will be redirected to the Permissions page of the EasyLife 365 Collaboration Cockpit. A global administrator will be prompted to give the consent to EasyLife 365 to perform the operations in your organization

Show EasyLife 365 Collaboration Apps in the App Launcher and My Apps

After following the steps above you will find three new applications in the Enterprise Applications section of your Entra ID (Azure Active Directory). The Visible to users? setting in the enterprise application's properties controls whether or not the application is visible in the Office 365 App Launcher and in the My Apps portal.

Enable the Visible to users? setting for the EasyLife 365 Collaboration App to make sure user's can easily access the application through the App Launcher.

To pin the EasyLife 365 Collaboration App for all users go to the User Settings section of the Enterprise Applications portal in Entra ID (Azure Active Directory). In the Office 365 Settings section, press Add application. Choose the EasyLife 365 Collaboration App, and then press Add.

Congratulations 🎉 you have successfully deployed EasyLife 365 in your tenant!

Restrict access to the EasyLife 365 Collaboration Cockpit

Administrative access to the EasyLife 365 Collaboration Cockpit is managed through Entra ID (Azure Active Directory). The EasyLife 365 Collaboration Cockpit is accessible by default by all users of your organization once the consent operation has been performed.

We recommend restricting the access to a selected group of administrators by using Entra ID (Azure Active Directory).

  • Navigate to the Azure portal and open Entra ID (Azure Active Directory) in your tenant.
  • Go to Enterprise applications and search for the previously consented EasyLife 365 Collaboration Cockpit application.
  • Go to Properties and change the setting User assignment required to Yes and press 💾 Save.

After this change, only users and groups listed in the Users and Groups tab will be able to access the EasyLife 365 Collaboration Cockpit in your organization. You can assign individual users or Security Groups to the Users and groups tab of this application as shown in the next figure. We recommend creating a dedicated Security Group and manage the permissions from there.

Assigning the EasyLife 365 Collaboration Cockpit to admin users will show the application in the Office 365 App Launcher and My Apps, this can be controlled using the Visible to users? toggle in the Enterprise application's properties. Applications that are not assigned to users will not be visible in the App Launcher and My Apps.
