Overview

Policies are essential for configuring governance within your Microsoft 365 resources. They provide a means to apply rules and regulations, particularly when tailored to specific templates, enabling nuanced control over resource management based on user provisioning.

For instance, you can customize expiration policies based on the intended duration of collaboration, distinguishing between short-term and long-term projects. Similarly, for templates granting user invitation capabilities, more rigorous access review policies might be warranted.

Additionally, you have the option to designate a default policy. This default policy serves as a fallback for any resources provisioned without an explicitly assigned policy. It's particularly useful for managing resources not provisioned by EasyLife or those established before the deployment of EasyLife 365 Collaboration within your organization.

The default policy for groups applies to ALL unified groups in Entra ID, not solely those utilized for Microsoft Teams.

Policies are upheld by the EasyLife 365 Collaboration Engine, a background process that executes daily to ensure policy adherence across your resources. If configurations deviate from expectations, the engine initiates pre-configured workflows using specified notification settings.
