Overview

Templates are organized in application groups. Each application group represents a resource type in Microsoft 365. EasyLife 365 supports the provisioning of Microsoft Groups (including group connected SharePoint sites), Teams, Viva Engage, Azure AD guest accounts, Communication sites and Team sites.

You can click on each module to create and manage the templates for the resources in the respective application group.

A template defines all the aspects relevant to a resource such as:

  • How is the resource provisioned?
  • What are the naming conventions when creating a new resource?
  • What security features are enabled?
  • What type of resource is provisioned? (Microsoft 365 Group, Teams, Viva Engage)
  • What data is collected?
  • What policy is applied?
  • Which target group (audience) can consume this template?
  • Is this template enabled for your users?
  • What Webhooks are triggered when a new resource is provisioned using the template?

You can create templates for Microsoft Groups, Teams, Viva Engage, Guest accounts, Communication sites and Team sites. Some features vary depending on the module but the following management operations apply to all templates.

Create and modify a Template

You can use the Create a Template button to create a new template. EasyLife 365 Templates

After creating a new template or clicking on an existing one, the Card section allows you to specify a title, description, and color for your template. You can use the language controls to translate the template text for your users depending on their configured language settings. If no language is specified for the template, it falls back to the default language. EasyLife 365 New Template Card

Templates can be limited to a subset of users, for example when you want to limit a template to a specific department in your organization. You can limit the template by specifying a Security Group in the audience field. Only members of the selected Security Group will see the template in their EasyLife 365 Collaboration App.

Templates must be active before the can be used in the EasyLife 365 Collaboration App. You can configure that using the Active field on this page.

Duplicate and delete a Template

EasyLife 365 provides the option to duplicate an existing template or delete an existing template by using the buttons on the card from the template overview.

warning

The deletion of a template is a permanent operation and cannot be undone. Templates contain the definition of data collection of your resources. Deleting a template does not delete the data collected but does not allow your users to modify it after the template has been deleted."
