Overview

Provisioning actions allow for further customization of Teams, Groups, and SharePoint sites created by EasyLife. EasyLife runs provisioning actions once, immediately after an object is created. You can filter provisioning actions by template or metadata. Actions are applied to all Teams, Groups, or SharePoint sites that match the configured filter after creation. If an object matches multiple actions, all actions will be applied following the order: provisioning actions without filter first; then actions with filter, considering priority, and alphabetical order.

There are two kinds of provisioning actions: actions for groups-based objects, and actions for SharePoint sites.

Details

You can create a new action by clicking the Create an action button. Alternatively, you can copy an existing action by selecting the action and clicking the Duplicate button.

In the Details section, enter a name for the action in the text field under Title. In the text field under Priority, set a priority for the action. Actions are applied sequentially in ascending order of priority. Actions with priority 0 are applied first, if the same setting is configured in different actions, the setting from the action that gets applied last overrides the setting applied by previously run actions.

Filter

You can scope actions by template or by metadata. Actions without filter will always be applied.

To filter by template, click the Filter by Template tab in the details section. Use the radio box to select whether the filter includes or excludes the selected template. Select one or more templates in the list.

To filter by metadata, click the Filter by Metadata tab in the details section. Use the radio box to select whether the filter includes or excludes items with the configured metadata. Enter one or more metadata fields you want to use as filter in the table.

Enable the action

To enable the action, check the box next to Active.

SharePoint sites

In the detail site you can change the action type to SharePoint. In this case you will only be able to apply provisioning actions to Communication- or Team site templates. In this specific case the set of provisioning actions is reduced to the default OneNote, and SharePoint provisioning actions. SharePoint provisioning actions will show up in a tab SharePoint besides the Microsoft365 Groups tab.
